What is Gist?
"Giving the gist" means focusing on the essential information, and avoiding excessive detail.
Gist Insights does just that. It is a digital research tool that explores topics and provides the essentials, letting you focus on the big decisions.

Using Gist is simple. Choose a topic, submit it, and Gist will then draw on constantly updated digital sources and AI summaries - sense checked by human experts - to provide you with data, insights, commentary, and a map of the competition in an easy to investigate dashboard in the next day.

What makes Gist different?
There are three simple things that we think set us apart and help you make better decisions:

Fresh - we use up to date online sources and not old data scraped 18 months ago. We also don't rely on research banks with insights that may no longer be relevant.
Transparent - you see the data, there's no black box. Generative AI and LLMs summarise information effectively, but their sources can be mysterious. This can also be true for some other data providers, who won’t show you the terms or mentions behind their analysis.
We pull the most recent online information and show our sources, so you know how we reached our insights. You don't just get a summary, you get the data too.

Coherent - we provide a combined view of data across multiple digital platforms, coupled with a human review of our reports to make sure that the conclusions fit together. This means that if the data shows something unexpected it's for a good reason, and isn't an AI hallucination. ​
